Let's chase away winter with unadulterated carnival fun!
On 8 February, you can celebrate the end of winter with a carnival in Balatonfüred. The cheerful event will be hosted in the courtyard of the Szent Benedek Secondary School, but the fun will already begin on the streets of the town. The programme will start at 3 p.m. with a gathering at the Kutas Árpád Memorial Park, from where the costumed parade will start, led by the Concert Brass Band of Balatonfüred Town. The route will lead through the Béke Street and the Lóczy Lajos Street to the courtyard of the Szent Benedek Secondary School. Here, the carnival gaiety will begin, in which winter will be chased away by burning effigy dolls, and then the most imaginative costumes will be awarded prizes.
