The centrepiece of the space is the giant climbing tower, which evokes the old suspension shafts and the equipment that powered the elevator, with miniature coal trolleys around the tower for the little miners to “ride”. The base of the park is made of ground rubber, so even the smallest children can crawl safely on it.
