The Blue Ribbon, one of Europe's largest lake sailing races, will be held for the 54th time this year, with nearly 30 different classes of touring ships. The 160-kilometre-long race will see an increasing number of categories battling the winds of Lake Balaton at the same time, including many returning foreign entries.
With the spread of high-speed boats, the number of categories in the competition has also grown, including elegant classics, fast catamarans and brave amateurs. The traditional route of the speed test organised by the ‘Magyar Vitorlás Szövetség’ (Hungarian Yachting Association): Balatonfüred – Balatonkenese – Siófok – Keszthely – Balatonfüred. The event is a great experience for competitors and fans alike, an extraordinary spectacle.
